“America, Weighed and Wanting!”

A tear comes to my eyes when I think about how far we have drifted from the foundation that made us great. I don’t know of one conservative thinking historian that does not believe and teach that our Judeo-Christian roots have made us great, and for the most part have kept us great until recent times. We are quickly moving into the sinking sands of humanism and secularism. The vacuum created by the lack of theological training and education from a biblical world view has left us Christ-less and adrift.
Education has taken an adversarial roll against God, Jesus, prayer and the Word! No time is given in our schools to the study of Scripture and the roll that Christianity has played in the development of our nation. There was a marked turn in morality and respect for life in 1973 with the Roe vs. Wade decision. Life lost significant meaning. The courts acted to provide what they felt was a solution to the problems created by the new immorality in America!
As D. James Kennedy once said, “The sin which was engendered in the sexual revolution was to be covered by the abortion revolution. Thus began the parade of the dead!”
The horror that has been unleashed in America (and in the world) in the name of a “woman’s right to choose” is nothing less than the American Holocaust. In Germany the Nazis killed more than six million Jews, Poles, Christians and other undesirables during the Second World War. In America, more than 41 million innocent children have been slaughtered since 1973.
Allow me to quote Dr. Kennedy… as he added this thought:
“Today those aborted babies would be graduating from high school, choosing college, beginning new careers. But one out of every four of them is not here. If you watched a graduation ceremony this past year, you should know that every fourth place should have been occupied by a cap and gown that was empty… for that child was not there... not there to be valedictorian, not there to become a doctor, a lawyer, a minister, or whatever their destiny might have been… perhaps President of the United States.”
America, you are weighed and founding wanting!
I was reading recently where students at Stanford University were known for chanting: “Hey, hey, ho, ho, Western civ has got to go…” Can you believe that college students, under the guise of the very freedoms that protect them, cry out to destroy the nation that gives them so much?
Why is there such an antagonistic spirit toward those things that obviously made us great? I think you know the answers here! God has been set aside and His Word ignored. We are left with a Christ-less and chaotic America! We need a revival in the church and a spiritual awakening outside of the church!
Patriotism is important, but being found righteous before God is more important!
I still weep at the singing of the National Anthem and the Pledge to our Flag. And I dearly love the singing of songs about our great land. But I also love the songs of the church and I love to sing them, too. I still believe in God’s Word and in prayer, both public and private. I still believe in old time religion, preaching heaven sweet and hell hot! I still believe the only way to heaven is by the way of the Cross! I still believe in the necessity of repentance and faith in Christ to the saving of the soul!
Could we possibly heed the words of the prophet Malachi when he said to Israel:
“return to me, and I will return to you, says the Lord Almighty!” Malachi 3:7
America, we must have a wakeup call! Time is short for our country! There are powers working within and without to destroy us. When will we learn enough to kneel, repent, pray and seek the face of God?
