About Us

1971:	Grace Baptist Temple began when a small group of believers met at the Chapel in Tanglewood Park. During the first year, meetings were held at the old Union Hall building on Monmouth Street. In later months, services were held at the Sedge Garden Community Center.
1973:	Property was located and purchased. The church moved to the present location of 3305 Peters creek Parkway in July of 1973.
1974:	The main auditorium and first educational wing were built with a Fellowship Building soon to follow.
1981:	Rev. Ed Sears accepted the call to become pastor.
1989:	Educational Annex was completed to provide additional classrooms. This phase included a covered drive-through for inclimate weather drop off.
1996:	The Welcome Center addition provided a 2nd covered drive-thru as well as more classroom space.
2000:	With space at a premium and growth on the way up, more space was needed. The addition of approximately 17,000 square feet in the Family Life Center as well as additional classroom space was begun in 2000.
2002:	Grace Baptist Temple purchased 7.1 acres of land immediately behind our current site, which enabled us to add additional parking spaces for our members and guests as well as begin preparations for Phase III building project.
Current Vision	Plans for our Phase III building project will incorporate 500 parking spaces on this new property, a new worship center, classroom space, and additional educational facilities. We give God the glory for the great things He has done and continues to do at Grace Baptist Temple!
